Life and Fire Protection Systems

Design and Approval of Fire Protection and Automatic Shutdown Systems

Many people are faced with the mandatory tasks of fire protection when they read the technical specifications of their property and, although it is stated that the property must have a fire protection system, the exact specification, professional sizing, optimum design, licensing procedure and, above all, cost-effective and convenient operation are not explained. Regardless of the type of building, the OTSZ – Decree 54/2014 BM on the national fire safety regulations – clearly sets out the basic technical guidelines for fire safety, which in practice contain the minimum requirements for fire protection, without which the necessary official approval for operation cannot be obtained. While the OTSZ provides for fire safety requirements, the Government Decree 375/2011 provides for the rules on the conduct of fire protection design activities, which stipulates who may carry out fire protection design activities in Hungary.

Our experts will draw up the installation plan on the basis of the technical specification or, if there is none, on the basis of the floor plan, so that it meets the formal and professional requirements of the authorities, using the most efficient standards and, if required, will also carry out the licensing procedure at the regional branch of the disaster management authority. The approval process is far from being completed with the green light for the installation plan, but you can count on H1 Systems to assist you during and after the construction phase with the commissioning engineer’s inspection, which is an extremely important step, because it is then that it is verified that the construction has been carried out according to the plans and that, in full awareness of the criminal liability, it is necessary to declare that everything has been done properly and that the official approval can only be obtained afterwards.

CO2 and NO2 detection systems for car park safety

Vehicle exhaust emissions and confined spaces make the ventilation of car parks an important safety issue. Proper time and concentration limits and safety protocols can save lives. The operation of these systems should be audited by H1 experts not only for life safety, but also for energy and cost efficiency.

Our solutions go beyond the fire safety minimum

H1 Systems can also help you conceptualize, design and implement your specific requirements. A common need is to install equipment that you want to control centrally, often not only at the level of fire protection and extinguishing systems – which in itself is a great advantage in terms of response time – but also, in most cases, with a building management software. In some cases, special stored materials or work processes need to be taken into account, especially in extinguishing planning, while in larger facilities it may be important to design an evacuation sound system. A regular requirement is for so-called ‘invisible construction’, which covers the most discreet design possible.
