Balanced and secure energy supply in an environmentally friendly way

How they work:

Energy storage is an increasingly pressing issue today. Not all times of the day and all seasons use the same amount of energy – so when we don’t use as much, it’s useful to store as much as possible to stabilise energy supplies and reduce energy costs. There are several alternatives: flywheels, hydroelectric power or liquid hydrogen can solve this problem, but at the enterprise level, the most obvious solution is to install batteries. This is particularly true when combined with solar systems. With a battery energy storage system, we can store the electricity generated by the solar panels until we actually use it – so we can cover most of our energy needs even during peak periods.

Battery types:

  • Lithium Ion batteries: they have an excellent weight-to-power ratio, but their capacity is getting reduced overtime due to recharges
  • Lithium polymer batteries: lightweight design and high energy density.
  • Lithium Iron Phosphate (LifePO) batteries: low toxicity, high safety and outstanding lifetime.
  • Lithium-Titanate (LTO) batteries: stable, fast-charging and long-life solutions.

Benefits of battery energy storage: who are they for?

  • Those who want to get the most out of their solar system.
  • Who want to achieve a more economical operation.
  • Those who are considering self-sufficiency, as with this technical solution, an annual self-generation rate of up to 70-75% can be achieved.
  • Who operate critical infrastructure and need to guarantee a secure energy supply.
